Atum is een LP van The Smashing Pumpkins. Niet iedere groep durft het aan om in 2023 een rock opera te schrijven. Smashing Pumpkins brachten de 3 LP's al eerder apart uit, nu is er de 4LP met nog extra 10 nummers.
Atum is een sci-fi rock opera. Het is een concept album dat evengoed de soundtrack van een sciencefiction film uit de jaren 80 zou kunnen zijn. Je kan je verwachten aan een bombastische sound en veel gitaren. Het is geen typisch Smashing Pumpkins album maar een complex verhaal van meer dan 30 nummers.
