Het album bevat 11 originele Beth Hart tracks, waarin ze vrede vindt met zichzelf en naar de toekomst kijkt. “This album is a new voice,” concludeert ze, “and I feel like it’s a whole new place for me to go. I mean, I hope that I get to keep working for the next 40 years and die old, and if I get that chance, I’d keep going down this path. I’m happy. This album is a whole new start for me…” Op Bang Bang Boom Boom laat Beth haar veelzijdige invloeden de vrije loop, variërend van 'Spirit Of God's' koperkleurige gospel tot het ingetogen 'Thru The Window Of My Mind'. Haar allereerste pianosolo is te horen op 'Swing My Thing Back Around' en haar tedere vocale op het Billie Holiday-flavoured, 'Baddest Blues' nummer.
