The Last Flight is een LP van Public Service Broadcasting. De Engelse groep is geen alledaagse groep die over alledaagse dingen heeft. Nee bij Public Service Broadcasting pakken ze het anders aan. Het kwartet uit Londen duikt diep in de archieven en zet historische gebeurtenissen om in aangrijpende conceptalbums. Met samples uit oude nieuwsfilms, archief- en propagandamateriaal creëert de band aangrijpende verhalen, gedragen door filmische, veelal instrumentale rock-, electro- en orkestklanken. Dit geldt ook voor het album dat in 2024 wordt uitgebracht: "The Last Flight" gaat over de laatste reis van de Amerikaanse luchtvaartpionier Amelia Earhart, die al op 25-jarige leeftijd begon met het vestigen van een reeks records: Ze was de eerste vrouw die de Atlantische en Stille Oceaan overstak in een solovlucht en verschillende snelheids- en afstandsrecords vestigde. Maar haar plan om als eerste vrouw rond de wereld te vliegen op de evenaar ging niet door. Ze doorkruiste Amerika, Afrika, het Midden-Oosten en Azië, maar bereikte nooit de laatste tussenstop voor de laatste etappe in de Stille Oceaan, Howland Island. De grootste zoekactie in de luchtvaartgeschiedenis tot dan toe, waarbij 4 vliegtuigen en 8 oorlogsschepen betrokken waren, had geen succes.
